UJAMAA’s current vision is to implement our mission in Rwanda. Our goal is to support the Rwandan medical system to achieve an independent, highly organized program of improved public health and excellent medical care. This will be achieved by providing simultaneous support to both the hospitals and rural clinics over a 5-10 year period.
Each visit will be coordinated and built upon the last visit. Regular follow-up through e-mails, skype, virtual classrooms, etc. with health care providers will be maintained in order to achieve mutual goals. Our services will be coordinated through the umbrella of Health Development Initiative - Rwanda* and several hospitals to assure that the greatest number of people benefit from our services.
*Health Development Initiative - Rwanda (HDI) is a Rwandan NGO founded in 2005, “whose mission and objective is to encourage and invite international/national volunteers to contribute to community development, education development, as well as health and environmental activities of the Rwandan people. Our program promotes the opportunity for individuals to build international links and mutual friendship through a global partnership.”
